Sustainable weight gain.

The term “sustainable development” is commonly used today.  But to me it is at best an oxymoron or, more likely, double speak to mask the fact that all development in one form or another is unsustainable as (according to many scientists) we have already passed the long term carry capacity (population x consumption) of the planet.  To be sustainable humans must agree on what the sustainable capacity of the planet is and work towards that target.  To me development without any end goal in mind on a planet with finite resources is not sustainable, in fact it is a recipe for disaster.
