2026-17  HOW FORESTS ARE VIEWED BY HUMANS

TEMPLATE

This cartoon was inspired by reading Barkskins, which is an epic historical novel by Annie Proulx that chronicles the vast deforestation of the New World through the stories of two French immigrants and their descendants over 300 years.  It seems to me that even today humans still tend to see forests as endless as we continue to clear forests at an astonishing rate, about 24.7 million acres of forest are cleared annually.
