This cartoon aims to metaphorically sum up my feeling that in recent times humanity has largely lost the understanding of sound logic. The obstruction and at times abandonment of attempts to tackle global warming, the strengthening belief in perpetual economic grow despite living on a finite planet, the total failure to acknowledge population growth, the repudiation of sound health science in favour of quackery and the rising popularity of authoritarian figures to me all point to (like the anvil weighted man in this cartoon) a very hard landing for humankind in the not too distant future.
