WHERE THE LNP STANDS TODAY

TEMPLATE

This is what I call a summery cartoon, which is one that explains a situation in a simple cartoon form.  The last two federal elections saw urbanite small “L” Liberals abandoning the Liberal National Party (LNP) in their droves by voting for Teal candidates, effectively decimating the Liberal Party’s presence in inner city electorates.  And in the last couple of months there has been a big swing by conservative Liberals and National Party voters to One Nation.  A Newspoll published recently in The Australian showed a combined LNP primary vote of just 18 per cent, with One Nation on 27%.  Liberal Senator Jane Hume said the party faced an “existential crisis” that could see them wiped out in the next election.
