It seems to me that we are being constantly bombarded with images of rich beautiful people, usually in tandem with urgings to buy products that are supposedly associated with such people and implying that this is what everyone should be aiming to emulate. All of which is in stark contrast to the lives of ordinary people. The reality is grimmer, but at least it is real and not a fantasy. This cartoon is trying to capture that sense.
