I stress that I am not a pacifist. There are times when war is the only option and that our defence force should be the best equipped and trained that money can buy, especially in a time of rising world tension such as we are going through now. But the thing that concerns me the most is what I see as a somewhat cavalier attitude that many governments and politicians across the globe are displaying to the possibility of war. As if going to war against Russia or China would be doable without catastrophic consequences for the world, and if nuclear war is thrown into the equation for the very planet itself. Even a small war is brutal, something that should be considered when contemplating any military action.
