Supply side economics, often described as trickle-down economics, can benefit all levels of society in boom times, it is a variation of the aphorism “A rising tide lifts all boats”. But it is of fleeting benefit to lower socio-economic groups as slower economic periods invariably return. But even in boom times trickle-down economics dramatically increases the gap between the rich and the poor, which in my view has disastrous consequences on society in the longer term.
