I recently re-read Shelby Foote’s definitive three volume account of the American civil war titled “The American Civil War – A Narrative.” Several quotes attributed to Abraham Lincoln in it highlighted to me the contrast between Lincoln’s articulate and compassionate speeches to that of President Trump’s Goebbels like base utterances. Oh to have a president in the Whitehouse with the stature of Lincoln instead of Trump!
