FEEDING THE POKIES

I was prompted to redraw this cartoon (which I produced some years ago) after listening to the current parliamentary debate about gambling reform legislation.  Admittedly this latest battle is over gambling advertising and is not specific to poker machines, but according to the Australia Institute Australians lose $13 billion to pokies each year and at least $10 billion in poker-machine losses (84%) come from at-risk gambling.  Which is incredibly destructive to both individual at-risk gamblers and society in general.
