But there is still some more coal that we can dig up.

Two people on a hillock labelled as the environment that has been undermined by digging. One person is pointing the the sun while the other is pointing to a coal seam that has yet to be dug up.

I drew this in response to the announcement of the approval of three massive new coalmines in Australia.  Note that I am not totally against coal mining. Afterall, high quality black coal is needed to make steel and existing coal fired power stations have to keep running until renewables can take up the slack.  But if the climate scientists’ predictions about global warming are correct most of the coal yet to be mined will have to stay in the ground.  Opening yet more coalmines does not make sense to me.
